What if there is bad weather?
The Hank Invitational is more bad-ass than the U.S. Postal Service, Tupac, the 1970's football players who took horse steroids, and Chuck Norris combined. It does not fear weather, it is not affected by weather, and it decides that weather should not be a factor. However, in the event that the weather refuses to cooperate there will be no postponement or cancellation of any matches simply because of rain or the threat of severe weather. All matches will be played through rain or other inclement weather so bring your jacket, rain gear, hip wader boots, wetsuit, Speedo thong, snorkel, etc.
The only way we will be affected by the weather is if there is lightning in the area and we are ordered off of the course. If that happens, all matches will be suspended and then resumed once the weather clears. In the event that a lengthy weather delay occurs, a decision will be made as to whether enough time remains to resume suspended matches which are in progress. It is possible that a match suspended by weather could be considered complete and the winner determined by the score of the match at the time the match was suspended. On Friday, it may be necessary to shorten the morning or afternoon matches to less than 18 holes if a lengthy weather delay takes place. Suspended matches which cannot be resumed will not be carried over to the next day. Every effort will be made to complete both 18 hole rounds on each day, so know in advance that we might be on the course longer than originally planned if necessary. For the Sunday round, every effort will be made to wait out any delay and then finish the suspended singles matches. A decision for resuming suspended matches/adjusting the length of rounds and/or matches will be made on a case-by-case, day-by-day, basis taking all factors into account.
So, in short, we will play in the rain. Anyone who refuses to play in the rain will forfeit their match and probably be scorned by the group. SCUMBAG RULE ALERT: do not assume that we are not playing simply because you wake up in the morning and see rain outside the window and/or storms in the area on the weather radar. Show up at the course ready to go despite your opinion of what the weather looks like. We're going to do whatever we have to do in order to play our rounds.
